My work is a fusion of textiles and ceramics. The textures and techniques of weave and stitch are brought together through the production of my ceramic pieces. This varied and individual collection provides table settings that add to the interior design of a room.

This range of cups has brought together my passion for both textiles and ceramics. I have been inspired by the eclectic collection of cups that fill most kitchen cupboards. I have developed a range of individual cups which work together to create a collection.

These are two examples of the textile cups. The full range includes cups, plates, bowls and vases, which can be seen on the Complete Collection page.

Alongside the ceramics I have developed a range of table runners that work together with the table settings to create an interior collection.

The Bottom Drawer

This collection of work was made for the Live Project, a project run in association with the Crafts Council during the second year of my degree at Cumbria Institute of the Arts.

The tradition of the bottom drawer is associated with women growing up and getting married. I chose to consider a contemporary version of this tradition looking at the idea of preparing yourself for leaving home and being independent.

I created a range of functional interior pieces in ceramics and textiles. The pieces work together as a collection which would provide a good starting point for people getting ready for living independently.

As a selected student in the Live Project my work was exhibited at Cumbria Institute of the Arts in from May 2006 to May 2007.
